CASE STUDY | Queensland Ballet

Queensland Ballet (QB) is a renowned ballet company founded in 1960 by Charles Lisner. Over the years, QB has evolved from a small state-based dance company to one of the premier ballet companies globally, under the leadership of its current artistic director, Li Cunxin. With a company of 60 dancers, including 48 in the main company and 12 young artists, QB tours extensively across Europe and China, making it a significant player on the global stage.

In May 2022, QB faced the challenge of optimising its financial operations to support its expanding presence and activities. Recognising the need for a robust finance system to manage their complex financial processes efficiently, QB sought a partner to implement a new ERP system.

At Giuntabell, we were proud to emerge as the ideal partner for QB. Led by Nunzio Giunta, our Managing Director, we offered expertise in implementing ERP systems, particularly Sage Intacct, a multi-dimensional finance system.

We commenced by thoroughly understanding QB's financial processes, goals, and challenges. Sage Intacct was identified as the most suitable solution due to its multi-dimensional structure, enabling QB to capture and present financial information effectively to various stakeholders without relying heavily on manual processes like exporting data to Excel.

The Benefits for Queensland Ballet

  • Giuntabell focused on streamlining QB's financial operations through automation. This included automating tasks such as data entry, invoice processing, and real-time updates, reducing manual effort and enhancing accuracy.

  • With Sage Intacct's real-time insights and intuitive dashboards, QB's managers and decision-makers gained deeper visibility into financial data. This empowered them to make informed decisions promptly, aligning with QB's strategic objectives.

  • Giuntabell's extensive experience in not-for-profit finances proved invaluable to QB. We provided tailored guidance, coaching, and examples from other organisations, enabling QB's finance team to maximise the capabilities of Sage Intacct effectively.

  • Giuntabell fostered a culture of continuous improvement by collaborating with QB's finance team to explore further enhancements and efficiencies in the finance system. Regular workshops and discussions ensured that QB stayed ahead of evolving financial needs.

Giuntabell’s experience with not-for-profit finances provided invaluable guidance and support, ensuring we leverage Sage Intacct to its fullest potential.

QB and Giuntabell continue to work closely to optimise their finance system further. Through ongoing collaboration and innovation, QB aims to enhance its financial capabilities and support its continued growth and success on the global stage.

The sheer flexibility of Sage Intacct allows us to pivot and address QB’s evolving needs efficiently.
— Daniel, Systems Accountant, Giuntabell.

Giuntabell's partnership with Queensland Ballet in implementing Sage Intacct has transformed QB's financial operations, enhancing efficiency, empowering decision-making, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This successful collaboration stands as a testament to the value of tailored financial solutions and strategic partnerships in driving organisational growth and excellence.
