COVID-19: What Government assistance
is available for charity and NFPs?

All levels of Government have announced a range of economic responses to the COVID-19 to support business, workers and the community.  There are benefits available for charities and not-for-profits and Giuntabell is here to provide assistance to guide you through this difficult and challenging time.

A summary of some of the key measures available to support organisations are listed below.  As a charity or not-for-profit you may be eligible for some of these measures. Key Measures for Charities and Not-for-Profits

  • Job Keeper Payment – eligible employers will be reimbursed $1,500 per fortnight for each eligible employee. The ATO will make the first payment in the first week of May.
  • Boosting Cash Flow – eligible not-for-profits will receive between $20,000 and $100,000 in cashflow boosts as credits in the activity statement system from 28 April.
  • Support for Mental health and domestic abuse sectors – $74 million boost to mental health services and a $150 million increase to domestic abuse support.
  • Support for relief service providers - $100 million of support for charities and community organisations who provide relief services.  
  • Temporary Relief for distressed businesses – in relation to statutory demands, bankruptcy proceedings and personal liability for directors for trading while insolvent.
